a slave question?

My history teacher mentioned that there was a group of slaves that succeeded in conquering the slaveship. The group was called something that started with an "A" .. does anyone know?

In 1839, eight years after the Nat Turner Revolt, the most famous slave mutiny took place when rebels, led by Joseph Cinquez, aboard the slave ship Amistad, killed the ship's captain and took control of the vessel.

They made a movie about it by the same name. Good movie!
