Midol or motrin. It also helps if you take it the day before your period starts that way the cramps don't come at all.

I had cramps so bad when I was in high school, I was forced to leave school early. I did not want to, as it would have meant playing catch up with homework. (and I did not feel right about missing).
I still get severe cramps, sometimes to the point where I'll scream and cry. Over the counter stuff don't work for me. I need prescription stregnth medicine.
Try Alka-Seltzer. If that don't work, or nothing over the counter works, ask for a prescription. If you're planning on staying a virgin, don't even go on the birth control pill unless the doctor strongly recommends it, as there are risks and side effects. Sometimes it not even worth taking it if your are being celibate. Try asking for some prescription pian killer just for menstrual pain.
To alleviate pain in other ways, drink herbal tea, sit in a tub full of very warm water (or hot if you can stand hot water), or use a heating pad.

I wish you luck! So sorry to hear you have it so bad! I been having it bad since I was 16.

You can address the pain with ibuprofen. If you weigh 100+ lbs, you can take 4. Stay away from the caffiene, and start 1 ibuprofen every 6 hours 2 days before your period should start.

That's how to deal with the pain. But there's another method--prevention. I know it sounds wild to get on a birth control pill at this time in your life, but the pill is used for other things, too. It's used for regulating cycles and skipping periods completely. Or, you can have a period once in a while, to clean things out, and it will be 3 days of fairly light flow. Even though you're a virgin, not sexually active, the pill could be a good answer to those bad cramps a couple of days every month.

Ibuprofen (brand name advil or motrin). Medications are not considered "healthy". They are theraputic which means they help with symptoms you are having. 400 mg dose every 6 hours would be appropriate for an average size female of your age.

Aleve and a heating pad!! Or the generic Naproxen Sodium. Its awesome. Ibuprophen/motrin does not work for me. Good luck!

Ibuprofen always worked for me. It is really great for that type of muscle pain. Any brand is okay, but I always took Advil.
