It may come as a surprise, but a birth certificate is a recent invention.
The registration of births, marriages and deaths in England and Wales started in 1837, but at first there was no penalty for failing to register a birth. Legal adoptions have been registered since 1927.
I have known many people that did not know when their birthday was, nor do they know how old they are.
This is my help from Washington, D.C. United States of America.

I'll be honest, I've never read the bible. And I celebrate because I was raised to celebrate, but really now that I'm older, there's just that feeling that goes with it....to me I guess it's to celebrate the earth, friends, family, and anything that makes up my life. It's also a good time to be with family and friends. It's also a time for hope and faith. It might of been negative in the past...why live in the Past? I don't celebrate it because it was negative. On the other hand every year around the beginning of December I get pretty depressed because I can't afford gifts for everyone and I can't stand all the greed and how materialistic it is.

christmas and most christian impacts are pagan. you would be surprised to know the drastic similarities. the christmas tree, the day, the season and such. i may be christian but i refrain from celebrating christmas. no one is sure when christ was "born", and it is really sad that people use this day as a day for gifts and food and celebration. some people only go to church for christmas and easter. i think that if you were really faithful, you shouldn't need a day to celebrate the birth of the son of man. you should celebrate every day of your life. if you constantly please yourself, what will you ever get back?

People are so hung up on dates/names/places.....What about "the spirit of giving." grantid, it should extend all year round....however.....who needs a reason to celebrate. It's nice that some of the human population as a whole in general, can agree on something!!!! Celebrating the season, with those they love. It does something for the spirit.....Names/dates/locations don't have any bearing on "GIVING OR CELEBRATING"
HAPPY HOLIDAYS, MERRY CHRISTMAS!

hmm lets see. because i was born into celebrating it.
when i was a kid i would be sad with no presents, but now i dont really care. i dont want that much, and what i do want i can buy with my own money.
although, buying others presents with limited money can be stressful.

Just because you do not know the date does not prevent you from celebrating his birth.
