Well, I believe, my waning interest on something may have to do with a new-found interest on some other thing. There just have to be a plausible explanation why something I was so passionate about would suddenly "fizzle out". And the one thing I would do is to become passionate over the new-found interest until I, again, loses my passion for it.

"Something" or "Someone"????.....Sorry
Life is a rolling raging river. As we ride that river through the ever changing scenery we never know what lays around the next bend. We can not go back. Nothing stays the same. Everything "fizzles out" including us.
Learn to accept change and make the best of it.
Twenty years ago I was running my own antique business.....fifteen years ago I was sailing the Caribbean......ten years ago I was searching for lost treasure in Mexico....... five years ago I came to the Philippines content to live out my golden years in peaceful solitude writing my book...... last month I married the love of my life......the woman I had searched for all of my life..... now a whole new future has opened up for me..... new adventures and someone special to share them with......I have not got time for regrets or to lament what "fizzled out"

You move on and take on the next passion. Its like being a child and playing with your toys and friends, being addicted to that video game, or having an obsession with a musician; it ends.

For you, since you say so, forget it and get on with your life.
For me, I am blessed with child-like innocence on things.
A book I may have read a dozen times lays on the shelf, and I wonder if I've read it before, begins to read again, and finds it so fascinating. And even if the ending comes to mind, it's as if every line was new again.

find something else that you can feel passionate about... keep your mind off of what you used to be passionate about, and sometimes that passion'll come back. (it did for me, at least. :)

I just let it go and focus on other things. I think it's about time to take a new step forward to expand our knowledge. ;-)
