Today Neptune is the very last of the line of planets ever since Pluto got tossed out into the wood chipper, and demoted to a dwarf planet. But when The Pluto was a planet it sometimes snuck inside the orbit of Neptune, which made it the ninth planet out.

The way I learned to remember the order of the planets is this sentence. My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Potatoes.
The first letter of each word stands for a planet. Mercury, Venus, Earth, Mars, Jupiter,Saturn, Uranus, Neptune and Pluto although i guess Pluto isn't considered a planet anymore. So Neptune is the Eighth planet from the sun

There are only 8 planets in the solar system, Neptune is the last one.
There is such as thing as searching online (wikipedia a good place to start, search on "solar system" or "Neptune").
