Doc is right on about the NAACP being the most racist organization around.
I'm glad these punks got shot. It's just too bad one got away. If some one breaks into my home, they will be carried out without a lot more holes than they came in with.
If you commit a felony, which burglary/ home invasion is, and someone dies while you are committing that felony, whether it was a result of you committing that crime or not, you can be charged with murder.
For example: Someone robs a bank, and while the bank is being robbed someone in the bank has a heart attack. Even if that person was going to have a heart attack at that exact time no matter what was going on around him, the bank robbers will be charged in that person's death.
This person was at his home, under the influence of his own legally prescribed drugs and breaking no laws. 3 men break into his home so the man defends himself and his family. He had every right to do what he did and he did nothing wrong.
The simple fact is if these 3 punks would not have committed this crime, the 2 would still be alive and the 3rd would not be charged for their deaths.

This would qualify as felony murder. Any criminal regardless of race is held responsible for the death of those during the commission of a felony. Even the getaway driver in the car (if there was one) could be charged, even though he was never in the house.

As I read the article, they're not saying that the law itself is racist, but that the prosecutor's decision to charge this defendant was racist. There is a huge difference.
To those who gave me a thumbs down, maybe you should read the article, because that's what it says regardless of whether you think there was any racism involved or not.

It's only racist because it was someone other than a white guy. And because the most racist organization in America (NAACP) says it is. Personally, I'd like to see more of this sort of enforcement, regardless of the color of the perp.!

Excellent question and a great point you are making. This law was not designed to target any particular race.
