The tallest mountain in indonesia is Puncak Jaya (formerly Mt Carstenz) 4884 metres. The second highest is Puncak Trikora (formerly Mt Wilhelmina) at 4750 metres. The third is Puncak Mandala (formerly juliana Top), listed at 4640 metres. Geographically, these may not be considered part of indonesia; because it is in West Irian, part of the New Guinea land mass.

The highest point in the Indonesia archipelago is Mt Kinabulu, in Borneo, at 4095 metres. The highest mountain in Java is Gunung Semaru, 3676 metres.
