Thank you for all your support, it feels nice not to be mocked and harrassed for my weight.. I realize it is a huge (no pun intended) issue and im trying my best to resolve it... For those who feel the need to be rude, all i can say is you are very ignorant!

yes you will, provided you lose the weight putting HEALTH and SAFETY first. No weird diets or anything, just establish a deficit by burning more than you consume. Simple mathematics.
I did exactly that and after I lost my weight, gave birth to a healthy boy (after having FIVE miscarriages). So it does work. :D

Wow. Some of these answers are really rude and inappropriate. I think it's time for all the little 10 year olds to be in bed. Go on now, let the grownups talk.
Anyway, obesity can affect your chances of getting pregnant. More so b/c of your lost periods (which can happen in cases of extreme obesity, along with irregular periods). That being said, I can tell you that once you lose weight your period can come back. I've had this happen to me (losing my cycle for periods of time) several times. We had also tried to get pregnant for 2 1/2 years before I finally did.
When you are ready to have a baby and if your periods have not come back, I would suggest consulting a obgyn. Tell them your history and have them test you for problems (PCOS, etc). I don't tell you this b/c I think you're going to have problems, I tell you because I have found that some ob's have the automatic response of "lose weight and you will get pregnant" when there can actually be hormonal imbalances that may not go away just from weight loss.
I wish you luck and happiness in your journey. :)

Unfortunately obesity does impact on your fertility. First of all, i think you should take a pregnancy test to rule out a possibilty of being pregnant. It would be better for you and your baby if you were to lose weight before trying to conceive again.Obesity can also have a major impact on a womans fertility. Some effects obesity can have on a womans reproductive health include:
reduced ovulation
a lowered response to fertility treatments
decreased pregnancy rate
risks to pregnancy outcome
Gestational diabetes is also more likely to be a problem.
Good luck with the weight loss. Holding thumbs for you!

I think you may have answered your own question in saying that you no longer have periods. But that does not necessarily mean that it is definite. Keep going with the weight loss regime and you will more than likely get your period back. If you would like some info on weight loss, etc check out the website below. Dr Mercola's site is a treasure trove of great info. Good luck and good health :-)

yes, i am too overweight with one child and its hard for me to get pregnant again. So recently I just started on a low cal diet with no more than 1800 calories daily and so far its working so if you are interested in losing some weight definately try this. And for your period talk to your doctor about getting medproxygesterone pills to restart your period, i too have the same problem. SO i hope too as soon as i lose some weight i hope i can get pregnant faster than being overweight, good luck in what you try to accomplish in acheiving this situation.

Every woman is different as you already know. I know some women that did have problems and lost weight and easily got pregnant. When I conceived my son I was 260lbs. I was told that I was going to have high blood pressure and gestational diabetes. None of which happened. Weight loss will most likely help you get your cycle back. Have you talked to your Ob/Gyn? She may suggest going on the pill for a little while during your weight loss if you aren't already on it. That helped get mine on track when I was a teenager. Good luck on the weight loss and eventual conception.

Fat tissue produces estrogen. It is sort of a natural birth control. Also, you might have polycystic ovary disease, which is often related to overweight and causes infertility problems.
Your period may well be "sporadic" or irregular. You can still get pregnant, you are just less fertile and you never know when you might ovulate. You probably don't ovulate as much.
Be sure to check with your doctor to evaluate your hormones and make sure you are otherwise healthy.
Then, work on weight loss and you will improve your chances of having another child. Good luck.

Congratulations on your weight loss campaign. Yes, obesity can affect your possibilities of pregnancy. In much the same way as too little weight can. But then again, you'll be a lot healthier for your next pregnancy once you get closer to your final goal!!
Good Luck!!
