how much backing do i need for a quilt with 120 inches as width acroos top and 130 inches in length down the side . i know its big ... i got carried away with my first quilt ? please help

LOL Now that's a BBQ - big beautiful quilt! Most fabric is 42 inches wide, so plan on 12 yards. Cut it into thirds, (or have the person at the craft store cut it into 4 yard lengths for you) and piece the 3 pieces together lengthwise. Do the same with your batting. Find out how wide it is and then multiply it enough times to get the width and length you need for the quilt. The backing will be pieced together on a sewing machine, but you'll piece the batting together by hand. This should give you enough to cover the back with enough left over to quilt it or tie it. Then trim off the excess and add your binding. Here is how you sew the batting pieces together
