Why was it so great?

A few friends and I went to the Big Island of Hawaii and stayed in the National Park near Kilauea. As we were getting ready to go to sleep, one of my friends went outside and ran back in, telling us we needed to come outside. We went out and it was pitch black; you couldn't see your hand in front of your face. He told us to look up, so we did. The sky was literally filled with stars...I've never seen that many before (probably because Hawaii is the most isolated place on the earth in the sense that it's not near any major land masses, and hence not near any major light sources). We stared at it for at least half an hour, and a couple of "shooting stars" (or whatever they are) streaked across the sky.

The next morning, we drove around the volcano. As we reached the crest, the road winded down the side of the volcano to the ocean. Everything seemed so massive that it completely overwhelmed me. I felt like I needed to puke, but I think I was just literally speechless for the first time in my life.

The day was only made better when we had to climb down a steep ravine to a black sand beach only to find out that it was a nudist beach. Any time you have a day that includes star-filled skies, ocean views, volcanos, and naked hippies, well, that's a pretty good day.

The day I got the notification in the mail that I had passed my Illinois Nursing exam for RN license. It was March 1995.
It was great because I was left pennyless with a baby and 3 yr old and had only 96 cents in my pocket the day I told my cheating ex husband to get out on February 24, 1989.
My little ones and I nearly starved and froze to death and I am not joking. Welfare saved the day. They sent me to college and paid the whole way along with books and fees, babysitting so I could attend classes and even paid for the clothes I wore to my clinicals while I was going to college.
I knew my Nursing license was my ticket to survival.
I opened my mail box in front of the welfare apartment I was living in and when I seen the envelope, I had to take a deep breath. I thought it was kind of thick, but wasnt sure whether that was because it was full of information on how to pass the exam the next time I took it or if it had the paperwork in it to send the money for my nursing license. I stood for a minute and finally opened the envelope and seen the word PASS. I cried all the way to the apartment and called my dad. It was like the doors to heaven opened with that letter. I have not been unemployed since the day I got the letter. I was hired immediately and have worked in the same hospital now for over 12 yrs. I am thankful it all worked out. I went from living on less than $4000 a year to making more than & $25000 a year the minute I opened that envelope.
Now I make over & $75000.00 a year and things could have never turned out better for me. My kids are now 19 and 22 yrs old. We ended up pretty happy and dont really care what happened to the cheater. He whined in court about how much more money I made than him. He didnt really care if we starved to death or not for a long time. His only concern is himself. STILL....

so many it would be hard to pick One...

Unlike most people I do not believe the birth of my kid was the BEST day of my life - becuase she was just a baby then - now she can walk, talk, and do stuff.. and is much better than a baby (she is 13 yrs) so I must say I enjoy her more now than when she was a baby...

Of course getting married was a good day - but to call it the BEST would mean the days after were not as good.. so I cannot call that the best either..

my childhood was crappy.. early adulthood sucked.. I have had some great years after 30 though....

the best day of my life was the day i first fell in love.it was so great because i grew up in a family that teach me not to believe in love.and money is the most important thing.i used to think love doesn't really exist.all those people feel was just a lie and they don't realise it.lol.i was wrong.lol.and it's a really great feeling to finally know and feel that love does exist.but after my heart broke, and i always like the wrong guy,i think my family is right.but,i'm just 15.lol.i still belive in love but i just think love is not for me.

I can't pick just one. My graduation day was fantastic. The day my fiancee asked me to marry him. They are both very important days in my life that I will never forget.
Graduation was just a new beginning, the day I realized that I'll never look back again. It's when I decided to let go of the past because I can only look forward from then on out.
The day my fiancee asked me to marry him was a wonderful day that I'll never ever forget. He's the man of my dreams and becoming his wife is one of the many steps that I'll make in my life on my way to 'success'.

Well for starters...the day I got married was the 'best' day of my life (so far)! And coming up in a few more days one of my 'best' days will be when I have my baby girl placed in my arms! I'm due 11/20/07 and I can't wait...I'm so excited! Hopefully, I have many more 'best' days ahead of me!!

What is your best day (so far)?
