The NYC Alliance Agst Sexual Violence has a media response project to combat rape victims being treated like criminals.
In particular, look at the link on the right - the Cosmo article about 'gray rape'.
excerpt:
Alicia's "gray area" experience is something that is becoming so common, it has earned its own moniker: gray rape. It refers to sex that falls somewhere between consent and denial and is even more confusing that date rape because often both parties are unsure of who wanted what.
The author is not an expert in this field.
Isn't consent a black & white issue, either you do or you dont? Doesn't this diminish rape and all the problems with getting people (men and women alike) to report it? Can't there be clearer ways of giving consent so we don't have such wishy-washy ideas of what constitutes consent?
I know that the media now use 'accuser' instead of 'victim'.
Any other concerns about rape in the media?

good point - there is more media attention on false allegations (giving the perception of being higher in number) than there are of rapes when in actuality impunity is causing rape to continue in society and shame & blame & fear of people not believing them is keeping men & women from reporting rape.

There are lot of injustices when it comes to rape.
I read an article today on how a 19 year old gang rape victim was sentenced to 200 lashes and six months in jail for being in a car with an unrelated male and for her attempts to aggravate and influence the judiciary through the media. Punishing a rape victim when her attackers only get one to five years in prison!

Accuser is right. False allegations are overtaking real allegations.
Rape and grey is right. There is no black and white for over-all rape, there is only black and white in some rape.
In Australia they are trying to pass a law that says, even if a woman consents to sex, if she was intoxicated at the time, then she did not have all her facilities together, so then can cry rape afterwards.
Ladies with false allegations and your feminist law makers are making a mockery of you and rape. Fix it or forever be dammed with "lieing, false cry of rape"
It is a real shame that the real victims of rape are not getting the help they need because of you women that spoil it for them by bad laws that sponsor lies and deception or false allegations

How are rape victims treated like criminals ? They NEED to be questioned, so all angels are covered and defense and accusation have as much material as possible to reach a verdict. If due process is treating rape victims as criminals, what would be the solution then ? Make rapists walk ?

Here's a rule for guys who sleep with women. If you aren't 100% sure that she's into it, don't do it. It's not worth it.
I have heard that while seeing The Accused, male viewers "hooted and cheered" the scene in which the lead character is gang-raped. If this is still going on, our young men need some education.

Somebody deleted my survey question "How many rape victims and how many rapists post questions and answers in this forum".
To me it seemed vast majority of people who post here claim they are rape victims. I just wanted to make a head count.

My concern is that the 'accused' has his face & name plastered throughout the media before any verdict has been reached. Whether he is found guilty or not is no matter, his life is in ruins from thereon. Meanwhile, regardless of whether she made a false allegation or not, she retains anonymity (99% of the time) and is free to continue accusing other men while the rape sheild laws ensure no one can look into her history to see how many other men she has tried to push to the brink of ruin & sometimes... suicide .
