I guess you are talking about the Bill of Rights. That is what the first ten amendments of the US Constitution are called.

Our BRILLIANT Founding Fathers gave us a constitution that severely limits the power of the Federal Government and delineates those powers, and the power of the States.
They knew that power corrupts so they wisely spread power as far and wide as possible while providing for better organization by way of a Federal Republic, which is more stable than what we would have had with a "pure" democracy or anarchy.
IMMEDIATELY power hungry corrupt politicians and Lawyers started to question how they could grab for that POWER they were being denied.
That resulted in our wise Founders being obligated to further guarantee significant power for the citizen by giving us the first ten amendments called The "Bill of Rights".

You did not state the law that is being amended by your governm,ent. if it is the law. or it is an ordinance of your town.

Amendment is the change of legal document.. State what are the legal documents which are to be amended.
