i have been coughing up bloody phlegm for a couple days now and the blood amount has been increasing each time
what could this be and should i go see a doctor?

No Idea what it could be.
You aren't supposed to be coughing up bloody phlegm. NOT HEALTHY. you should have went to the doctor when it first started.

nope, yo'll be fine by the morning, take some advil, ,dont do anyting stupid likes go to the e.r. or a dr tho,, that'd be whacked out if you did that
instead, stay on the puter and ask yahoo answers instead of getting some serious medical help , whatup w/ the folks nowaday==fo 'real

sinus infections, tuberculoses, bronchitis and lung cancer can all cause bloody phlegm......
do you have a fever, where you sick? hows the weather for you? do you smoke? do you use cocaine?
there is nothing over the counter you could take to stop yourself from bleeding

Do you smoke? This can't be good...GO SEE A DOCTOR!!! It may be minor, however it may also be something major like cancer...only a doctor will know...good luck

lung infection, sinus infection, the worst case would be pneumonia
