So many people ask for homework help here in the HISTORY section because they don't read or do their research and basically just copy the knowledge of those that actually LOVE to learn it?

I don't think it's fair. As much fun as it is to help, it's getting kind of annoying that almost all questions here are based on homework help instead of something to actually talk about.

Yeahh. Like I said, it's great to help others out with what you know, but then again, some people just abuse it and like, basically ask what's on their whole paper!

I guess that's what Yahoo.Answers is for. :D

Liebe...No no no, this situation is not something to be sad about at all.

Yes, of course many a lazy student comes here for homework assignments. But the GREAT thing is that the people who respond to the students and adults, know far more about a subject than do the classroom teachers and sanitized history text books.

You and I and others who care are able to keep alive and pass on to these helpless students higher quality knowledge and insights into History than they would otherwise have attained on their own.

We bring something to them that they can't get at school or home: History that is exciting, interesting, and stimulating. There are few endeavors more noble than that.

Don't you agree?

it's a terrible ongoing problem that Yahoo Answers has been asked to address and done nothing.....all you can do is gently chide askers for trying to cheat, and thumbs down anyone who facilitates cheating.

Giving plausible but wrong answers hoping the cheater would use them and get a bad grade and maybe learn something would be, well, not right. A reply like " The trouble with taking someone else's answer rather than looking it up yourself is they might be wrong" and then giving links might be a better way.

I wish Y/A would allow thumbs down on QUESTIONS as well as answers.

i agree with you. it's really sad but then, think of the many help you can do for the ones who need it.
it's now up to them (the ones who copy). it is their loss if they don't read and make reasearches.
as for those who give answers, consider yourself lucky. attitude and aptitude usually never go together.

never share all you know with anyone. for if you do they will know just as much as you and therefore you could no longer help them.

but yes, i know what you mean.
