Having your civil liberties taken away is in fact a breach of national security as far as I'm concerned. There is nothing more important than freedom, not even life.

You know I have heard people call the getting on a plane without going through security their right and part of what Bush has taken away from them.
I just wonder if we even know what true liberties are anymore.

Give me liberty or give me death.
You don't see much of that spirit anymore. Like George Carlin said, Americans are willing to give up some of their liberty for the feeling, the illusion, of safety.

No. What nation is left if we throw all of its good qualities out the window?
Can't anyone else see that this is exactly what terrorists want? Fear. Horror. A degrading sense of liberty.
Personally, I would rather they kill me than take away my freedoms.

If we had a competent administration right now, we wouldn't have to worry about civil liberties and you wouldn't be asking this question.

You ask people this and they say no. But if you ask a hard line conservative if they support the patriot act you get an overwhelming yes. Odd society we live in.
Oh, and no I wouldn't sacrifice my freedoms.
