In Greek mythology, King Midas is popularly remembered for his ability to turn everything he touched into gold: the "Midas touch". It means he had selfish desires and when his wish came true, it back fired on him. Everything he touched turn into gold including his food, the water and his daughter and he eventually died. Be careful of what you wish for and nothing goes unpunished.

Everything you touch or do will be golden. That usually is a good thing unless you read the entire myth. Midas turned his daughter into a golden statue (he wasn't happy with that), then he found he couldn't eat or drink because everything turned to gold before he could consume it.

He was probably buried in a gold casket.

Everything you touch turns to gold; you will die within days because you will no longer be able to ingest water or food.
When people refer to the Midas touch, they suggest that somebody is having amazing success, but is likely to come to a bad end.

In Greek mythology, Midas was a king of Phrygia who was granted the gift of converting all he touched to gold. He soon regretted his gift, as his food and drink were also turned to gold. For preferring the music of Pan to that of Apollo, he was given ***'s ears by the latter.

in the myth it was bad. Midas's touch literally turned everything to gold. so like, if you hugged your kids, they'd be gold statues. at first he was happy, but then he learned that having all the money in the world wasn't that great. he found that other things were more important, like being able to touch things without killing them. Probably more than you needed to know :)
