Yes, he can obtain a copy as it was his father. Call the executor of the will and ask for a copy. If they won't give one hire an attorney. It is his legal right to have a copy.

Your court house should have a register of wills. When people die and there is a will, it is put on file with the register of wills. Call them up and ask if there is a will on file for your father-in-law. If you want a copy, you may have to pay for it. You could also check to see if it is on line. A lot of counties in many states have their records on line that the public can access. I'm not so sure about will specifically.

If his father has died then the will was presented for probate the it is public record. He can go to the courthouse where his father's will would have been executed and look through the records.

If he was mentioned in the will he should have gotten invited to the reading of the will. I'm afraid that your husband will need to contact his father's attorney, or executor, and if he cannot get satisfaction from them, he'll have to engage an attorney of his own.

If it was legal, the Court in the town where he died is required to have a copy of it. In fact a judge had to approve it.

Absolutely.. he can request a copy. How do you think the media gets a hold of it? He can request it from the executor or from whatever law firm has it.
