use energy
.5*m*v^2=.5*k*x^2
.5*900*20^2=.5*k*25
=14400

b) v(t)=v0-k*x*t/m
when x=5 v(t)=0
t=1.25
that's the compression time, so total time in contact with the spring is
2.5 seconds
