The oregon territory was the state of Oregon before it became a state, when the united states was first being formed and people were discovering the new western lands they called them territories until they were voted into statehood.

The Oregon Territory was the area that included Oregon, Washington, and parts of California that were not owned by Mexico. Maybe you should pay attention and not procrastinate.

I think that was a territory that not only became the state of OR but also WA, IL, & probably parts of MT & WY. I think b4 it was a territory, it was "Oregon Country." & there was a border dispute w/ Canada which meant that the U.S. coulda had a good piece of southern BC as well, dubbed "Fifty-Four Forty or Fight!" (I used 2 play that game in my 6th grade class too, skip!)

Maybe you should pay attention in class. That was Oregon before it was a state.
