im doing a project for nuclear power and i see some information on sites, but they explain it in a way that i dont understand so i was wondering if someone could tell me how nuclear power works in an easy quick way?

I'm a Nuclear Mechanic for the Navy and I think one of the best diagrams to use is on Wikipedia. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nuclear_fis...
This is very similar to what we are taught in the Navy. The diagram on the right shows a U-235 that captures a Neutron becomes excited and then splits (fission) into 2 smaller Fission Products (not necessarily Kr and Ba) There are many different FP's that can occur but it is a very good model to use.

well there are nuclear fusion and nuclear fission.


The SUN uses nuclear fusion to fuse two smaller elements into one bigger one.

nuclear fission splits an element into smaller components.. our nuclear reactors use fission.
