Hate made her famous. It is what she does. She spews hate. It is a sad statement about America.

From the biography on her website: "Coulter graduated with honors from Cornell University School of Arts & Sciences, and received her J.D. from University of Michigan Law School."

As to how she became famous... she says outrageous things and people listen. How did Michael Moore get to be famous? Same thing, for different audiences.

she became a "celebrity" because we are a mindless rabble that will listen to anything no matter how ignorant it is. conservatives love her and liberals hate her but for some sick reason we still listen to what she says. she is of no importance but yet she finds those who will put her on the air.

Celebrity is the correct term. She became a celebrity because she voices an opinion and people listen to it. Whether or not you personally agree with that opinion, that's what makes her a celebrity.
