What do you see to come in the next 60 years?

What a vast question.

I see people learning more than ever that we are interdependent, on our planet to provide a habitat for life, upon each other, and within nature.

We are approaching, scrub that, we are already within times of crisis. The resource wars are upon us. Nations take on the persona of bully and victim in a playground with limited toys, and have not learned to share. They will have to learn, and we will have to learn.

As the twentieth century was to science, so must this one become to cultural and spiritual evolution, if we are to survive it with the blessings of the knowledge intact, or fall into dark ages. Great challenges await us, and the signs amidst the despair give some cause for hope.

People are beginning to relearn to live sustainably, to take the great gains of science and apply them back to new ways of building community. Visionaries like Scott Peck in psychology, Aldous Huxley in social anthropology and fiction, Bill Mollison and Holmgren in Permaculture, and the thousands who are moving away from the conventional paths of least resistance and putting their energies at the greater service of common dreams.

Those are both the hopes and fears I have for the next 60 years. Spiritual and social evolution. Our humanity needs to catch up to our technology, lest we lose both. The seeds for the future are planted in the present. What is loved and nurtured, grows. What is loved and nurtured, endures.

I'm very sorry to say, but I see World War 3. I see that we will mess up global warming so bad. The signs are all here. In Toronto Canada 20 years ago the summer temperature was about 30 degrees now with the humidity factor it goes up to about 48 degrees. 15 years ago it used to snow , waist high, on Oct 1 , Its now Nov 15 and its 12 degrees with no snow yet. Scarry. All major countries have nucs, Civil war going on in many African countries and perhaps any day now in Lebanon. Israel and Iran at odds, Iraq, Afghanistan is losing control, Pakistans dictator announced martial law. Will this Butto control Taliban? heck, they don't think woman should study, how will they respect one as a president? God, do people think of God anymore? Do they live , work , think of God? All signs are here , the end is coming. Hold on to best friends and family and God. Peace, Bill.

Life as it is.
Heartbeak. Tragedy. Triumph. Victory. Defeat. Jealousy. Envy. Anger. Regret. Determination. Philosophies. Trials. Tribulations. Internal conflict. Too much to comprehend.

All of this can happen in a span of a month or even a week in high school, too. High school is an adventure within itself. Nothing rivals those years.
