if you have a daughter, will your views change? will you want her to be able to have a career AND a family? should she get an equal wage for equal work? will you belittle her if she's raped? if you have a son, will you expect him to be dominant? would you care if he became a stay at home dad? should he be the sole-breadwinner?

misandry: i think you missed the point. of course it will be your child's choice. many antifeminists and traditionalists are against SAHDs, i'm not. many antifeminists belittle rape victims-good for you if you don't.

First of all I'm not anti-feminist, i'm non-feminist. I don't mind whether i have a male or female child - i hope to have both one day. The main thing i would like for my children is to have the confidence to follow the path that is right for them - if my daughter wanted to be a career woman and my son a stay at home dad, i would support them both in their decisions, just as i would if they took more traditional roles.

If I have a daughter I would want her to find a good man that is faithfull and supports her. You cant have a career and 2 or 3 children the day is 24 hrs for everyone.

who cares as long as either child is healthy and happy?
if i had a daughter and she wished to be a wife and mother then i would support her...
if she wished to have a career., i would support her
if she wished to have both...id ask where the energy came from for her to do it
and i would support her.
and i would never belittle my daughter for being raped.
if i had a son he can be dominant if he wishes..but never violent.
he can be sensitive if he wishes.
he can be both.
and i would support him.
if he was a stay at home father..
i would support him
if he was the sole breadwinner..
i would support him
no matter what..
i would support either.
and be proud to call them my children.

I already have a male child. If I am to have another, I wish for a female child. A daughter is a passion to her father's heart, where as a son is like an alter ego. But I am not sure what my 3 yr old will grow up to be. Its his life and I am ready to take it which ever way he grows up.

I have three daughters.
No, my views have not changed.
I'd want her to make her own decisions and take responsibility for them, instead of blaming the nearest man.
As long as she does identical work, identical hours, identical 'sickness history', identical over time, she will get equal pay. If she goes off work frequently or doesn't bother getting qualifications, then she can expect lower pay. Blaming a mythical wage gap is nothing short of excusing one's own inabilities.
Would I belittle her if she is raped? Why - do you belittle your Son/s if they are kicked in the groin (sexual assault) over a petty argument? No, I woulnd't - in fact, I've never belittled any woman who has been raped.. why would you think such a crazy thing?
I have no Sons, but I would expect him to be fair & just in his decision making as I do my Daughters'.
I was a SAHD - why would it worry me if he chose to do that? It was the women in my life who had a problem with me being a SAHD, not the men...
Not if he doesn't want to be, but that would be a decision for himself & his partner to conlcude - not you or I.

I'd rather have a daughter, because I see the future as considerably brighter for women than I see it for men.
As I would want my children to have as happy a life as possible, I think they'd be more likely to be happy if they were female.

Leila, you're not a true antifeminist if you let your daughter pursue a career like that. Hate to burst your bubble.

Having a daughter in the western world makes no difference what so ever. As long as she does not grow up to be a hairy armpitted feminist, then I would always be proud of her.
