Spezza for Phaneuf?

Question

My defense is not that great. I play in a 4 dman league and my top 2 are good...pronger and rafalski, but after that i have Liles and Hainsey. For centers i have Spezza, Sakic, Getzlaf (playing utility) and Langkow on the bench. I'm thinking Spezza it worth a little more than Phaneuf, but i have some decent centers should i lose him and get a pretty good defenseman. Thoughts?

Forgot to add, he also has Mike Richards, so would adding maybe Liles and Spezza for Phaneuf and Richards look like a better trade (ie. would you make that trade)??

Phaneuf i would say becausse its easier to get a top center than a Dman

Considering that centers are a dime a dozen this year, I'd take that trade if I were you. You won't find another Phaneuf, but you'll make due with your other centers, even if they are not Spezzaesqe. That said, if you are in a twelve team league, then your defense is not really that bad as it stands. Most people don't have two top-10 defensemen on their team. Still, doesn't hurt to be even better. Put it this way: the difference between Phaneuf and Hainsey is going to be greater than the difference between Spezza and Getzlaf.

Honestly, I think you're pretty good on the D. I'm pretty sure Hainsey's a first-line d-man (at least he was when I got him) so he'll be getting lots of minutes and Liles can put up points. But if you think you'll be okay on centre without Spezza, go for it.

LOL, Liles is better then Rafalski you dumb bum (*avoids Violation*)

i dont think getting rid of Spezza is the answer, because he puts up tons of assists, one of the best playmakers in the league, and getzlaf isnt the greatest, nor is langkow, so keep spezza! Liles too! Liles is a good d-man to have.
