It introduced the triumvirate of the best players to ever play ball: Jordan, Bird and Magic.
Honorary mentions are: Scottie Pippen (though not yet as polished as he was in the 90's) Shawn Kemp, Clyde Drexler, James Worthy, Isiah Thomas, Hakeem Olajuwon, Charles Barkley, Karl Malone, John Stockton, David Robinson, Patrick Ewing, Dominique Wilkins, Kevin Mc Hale, Robert Parish plus some of the best in the 70's thrived in the 80's like Dr. J, Moses Malone, Kareem Abdul Jabbar etc.

during the 80's almost every team had a real superstar that everyone wanted to see. Magic, Bird, MJ, Olajuwon, Ewing, Barkeley, Malone, Isiah, Nique. It was a great time. I miss the 80's NBA. The watered down 90's sucked and now today's ESPN and media hyped stars have almost made the league unwatchable. Case in point. Lebron's horrible Finals ratings.
edit: Yes I know some of those played in the 90's but what I was saying that most of the teams had stars on them in the 80's. By the time the 90's rolled around only a few teams had stars on them. So the term watered down is appropriate.

Because it was more for the satisfaction of the win instead of the pay check in the 80's Ben Wallace would have stayed a Piston (what a loser)

Well it was really the 1980s-early 1990s, not just the 80s. You lack perspective or proper knowledge in this discipline.
