...and you ate the food and everything.
Would you not have brought a present, or card or something?
It happened to my son and I found that very rude.
Also I am talking about an adult with children who did this.

We went to the movies for the party. So she paid for the tickets and snacks so she had money for herself, so the no money excuse can't work here.

I think that you should always do something. You didn't say it was rude not spend a fortune, just not to bring anything.Any one can make a card and those are the ones that I find to be special.

Hi

I always think it is nice to take something when you are invited to a persons home, especially a special day such as a birthday. However some people can't afford much but then if that was me I would have made a card or made a small cake.

I would try and forget about it and not let it get to you. Hope the birthday was fun!

Not everyone can afford gifts or even cards. I've never went to a party of any sort without bringing something but I won't get mad if someone didn't bring anything. Maybe they just wanted their child to have a good time and hang out with other kids.

we went through some REALLY rough times and we told the friends we couldn't come and they insisted. because we wanted the child to not feel bad because we weren't going, my child went. no, we didn't take anything. wasn't planning on going and didn't have the money. try to assume the best in people. your child will never remember the gift, he will remember that they came.

i've had friends in the same situation, they knew i didn't care about gifts and my child has been taught that too. she knows and will tell you it's more important to "love".
