When I bought my computer two years ago, it came with a free upgrade to wireless. In August, I would get a message saying "Windows couldn't configure your wireless connection", in which case I would just restart my computer and the connection would be fine.

Now, when I get disconnected, I will check my list of wireless connections, and it says none are in range. Even turning off and back on the button [to search for networks] doesn't help. It just makes my computer partially freeze to the point where I need to restart.

Someone please help!! This is frustrating! :(

What laptop do you have? You should be able to go the the manufacturers website and get the newest driver and download it. You can then "click on the downloaded driver" to install it. (or read the directions that come with it - some use a different manner.) You can also just go to Control Panel - System - Hardware and REMOVE the current wireless card. When you reboot XP and VISTA will find the device and readd the driver on your system. (However, see if there is a "newer" driver for it first!)

Do note, a lot of laptops have a SWITCH that actually turns the CARD Off -- in order to save power when not needed.. So be sure your card is turned ON before you do much else!!!!

I'm not sure, they probaly can. I don't know that mutch about it but
if the computer is acting up then redoing it and doing the upgrade again might help. Maybe you missed somthing when you did the upgrade the first time.
