This Morning
Written By Semper Fi Reborn

This morning,
She didn't wait for me,
To come to the kitchen before she poured me a glass,
Of smiles.
Accompanied by a plate of her sexiness,
And toasted loveliness.
I couldn't eat another bite.
So this morning I whistled,
As I drove to work.
But I left my brain in park.
My heart was in four wheel drive.
I didn't want my heart to slide into the intersection,
And splatter anyone with my private joy.
That would have ruined this morning.

The bottom line is that if you're not asking and answering questions then you don't belong on Yahoo Answers. A lot of people mistakenly think that this forum is for whatever you want. Its not a poetry reviewing site and its not a place to just hang out with your friends. Sorry if you have been misled but thats why. P.S. - Ang has got it right and typically she has a lot of thumbs down just for being right - I bet I will get thumbs down too. It just shows how much people misunderstand this site.

Nice job! It's bright, light and quite uplifting. Why? I think it's because you are so unabashed about expressing your happy situation to the whole world. For the young ones, it paints a kind of ideal thing and gives hope that such a life comes soon to them. For older ones, it triggers recollections of those pleasant times when all was well in their own youthful worlds. You are thoughtful in sharing such cutely chosen words.

Awww, the mystery of poetry... a thinly veiled attempt to convey intimacy. No wonder you were whistling!

Great. I love the extended image "plate of sexiness" "toasted lovliness." A guy poem--and I think those are hard to do this well.
