You can leave the fry with the parents as long as there are not any other fish in the tank with them. Corys and plecos are OK though, they will not harm the fry. A few [3-4] corys are a great clean up crew for a tankful of livebearers, very nice little catfish. Corys do best in groups of at least 3-4.

It is a common misconception that the parents always eat the fry. As long as the parents are well fed and you have some bushy plants in the tank for the fry to hide in they will be fine. They can be raised with the parents as long as you provide some very fine food for them. Frozen baby brine shrimp are great for fry, it helps them grow quickly.

Feed fry at least 3 times a day for maximum growth and development.

Seperate the babies into a tank with the female fish. The female fish might eat the babies, but if you keep the females with the males you will have even more. I started off with 1 tank and 2 guppies and now I have 4 tanks and over 30 guppies in a couple of months time. I had to put the babies by themselves though, because I couldn't stand the thought of them being eaten up. I now seprate them as soon as I can determine the sex. Its a mess. Pet stores should warn people that guppies can get out of hand and to only buy males.

This is me again. Just adding to the note about overstocking. The shop that I bought the Clowns from says that they will take them back once they start getting to a larger size as they are still babies now. Thanks for the info everyone. I have another tank which I can put the fry in. Another thing, would there be a reason why only one of my female guppies are breeding although they are both fully mature? Thank You

Move the fry or parents into a separate tank. If you keep the fry with their parents, they will get eaten. Please don't use a breeding net. In almost all cases, they are terrible because they prevent the fry from growing as quickly as they could. By stunting their initial growth, the fry will develop more slowly later on, and depending on the duration of time in the net, they may be permanently stunted and exhibit deformed organs, muscles, and bones... Try putting them into a breeder container like this one. http://www.petco.com/product/7449/Lee-s-Multi-Purpose-3-Way-Breeders.aspx
