I had a field trip to D.C. today and on some houses, I saw signs that were saying stuff about the war. What do you think about the war? Do you think that this war is worth all of the trouble that the U.S. is going through? I would like to hear your explanations too with your answer just to see how you backed up your opinion.

War is the result of political game and ego issues of the politicians mixed with business interest. Top level people decide to endanger the lives of other people and incur losses of country's wealth without any hesitation, which could be avoided by talks or other means. To manipulate the emotions of people these people would use words like patriotism etc.

Nothing good can come by destructive measure. UN should take more active role in keeping world peace.

No, I don't support the war. I think it was ill-advised.

Saddam Hussien was a monster of the first magnitude. But I feel that if he were to be removed by forced intevention from a source other than the citizens of Iraq, it should have been done by countries in that region of the world, namely the middle-east.

The Saudi's with the Iranains, Syria and Turkey together, collectively, could have easily defeated him militarily. ((not to mention the possible participation of Israel.))

The original charges - tumpted up charges - the present U.S. administration invoked to justify this countries attack and occupation of Iraq, will in my opinion, go down in history as the greatest international blunder that this country ever engaged in.

As it is now, even if the violence has diminished to a considerable degree currently, to prop up the incrediably inept and corrupt to the core, present government there, will require our remaining in the region far into the distant future. Our children's children will be paying for it long after we are gone.

My solution to the problem, would be to pull all of our troops back to the perimiters of Iraq, and let the warring factions go at it, until one or the other of them gains control.

At that point, we could then rationally reasses what we should do.

I support the war.

I feel that its worth while to spread democracy to countries that are ready for this, unfortunately it is very hard to do and this time we may have bit off a bit more than we can chew.

But putting aside that point, If it would had been easier, or better planned wouldn't it have been worthwhile for 22 Million people living under a dictator to live under a democracy, Aren't those people better off with freedom like we have in place like America, England, Canada etc?

We did it wrong, we made many mistakes.

But our heart was in the right place.

My personal opinion is that war is just our selfish nature in extreme action. I don't see a point to it, how guns and fighting and killing and hurting and stealing innocence helps anyone. People are just as greedy and evil as they are in the end of a war than when they began, except they are with less lives and less money, but still more problems.

I dont like the war.....war is a bad thing.....but terrorism is much worse. What do we do? Stop the war and let the terrorists win? Have we all forgotten September 11 and the horror we felt that day? The war is a neccessary evil. We all hate it but how else do we fight terrorism? We cant let them get away with killing innocent people....sept 11, bali bombings etc

this sounds like a homework question...
IMO the war sucks, because war sucks in general. But I think it is worth the trouble because we were able to get saddam out of power, and now we have more control in the middle east

Without the war, where would our freedom be....I do not feel that the war is worth all the lives that have been tragically taken....I think that this War is just way out of hand...May God be with all those that are defending my freedom with their lives...

No it's not. My opinion is that George Jr. is finishing a war that his dad started in the late '80's early '90's. It shouldn't have happened in the first place.

TOTALY disagree with this war on Iraq. TOTALLY believe that George Bush wanted revenge for his father. TOTALLY AGAINST ALL OF IT. They (Iraq) WERE NOT A THREAT TO US IN ANYWAY WHATSOEVER. But hey....let's just go with it.....NOW WE are screwed and everyone hates us and for good reason - including the IRAQ citizens. We've lost SOOOO many lives. Think about your son over there for NO REASON WHATSOEVER and no wonder they are attacking us?????
