YOU MEAN HARD DRIVE SPACE.... that is NOT memory.
memory goes away when you turn off the computer......
does the space go away when you turn off the computer? NO. it doesn't so you mean HARD DRIVE SPACE.

actually "system restore" can give you a HUGE temp file (i've had one that was 4 gigs) in the "system volume information" folder on the main drive. MAKE SURE YOU HAVE HIDE SYSTEM FILES AND FOLDERS TURNED OFF. check all hard drives for the folder. it should be in your root. the only way to access it to delete it is to right click on it and go to sharing and security --- click I understand (if its there in blue) then click "share this folder on the network"

then you can delete the whole friggin folder. !!!!wooo hoooo!!!!!

if you ask for help, follow the directions.......or you can try to fix it on your own.

back up your important files and prepare to reinstall windows.
it is FOR THE BEST.

Ah, are you talking about disk space or RAM memory? "Memory" always means the storage space for programs and data that is erased when the system is turned off. Disk space should not be called "memory" (but it often is).
So, you only have a couple of gigabytes of memory left? That's really quite a bit of memory--but not much disk space. I expect that the restore program put a restore partition on your hard drive. Either that or it left a lot of detritus behind.

It is from restoring, it saved all your previous applications before restoring, so that if you chose to go back it would be there, it will delete it eventually. if you wish to free up hardspace immediately...
1.control panel
2.performance and maintainence
3.system
4.system restore tab
5.Click on the drive you save applications and stuff to(probably c drive)
6.Settings
7.Change System restore storage space settings

Hope this helps you:)
