I couldn't care less. I would rather someone dislike me for being the real me, than dislike me for some act I put on to make them like me. I would never know if it was me or the act they didn't like.
If I put on an act and they didn't like me, the opportunity is created to over analyze the facade that was created trying to find ways to improve it.

That's why I never bother ...too much like hard work.
If people don't like me ....feck 'em ...their loss!

I think if you say no, then you are a liar or you have so heavily stereotyped how people see you in terms of belonging to a sub-culture, that you don't even know the real you ; )))
But I would prioritise this answer. Work perceptions are the most important (money), followed by how potential mates might see me (Sex), followed by how my sporting/peer colleagues might see me (Poise), followed by how my closer friends might see me (Respect), followed by how my drinking buddies might see me (Social freedom). And at home, well I could show you a photo because you would not recognise me in public and it would probably get banned. In general I have taken on board the information women I know have handed to me about dress sense. But I also dress so that in an event of a natural disaster, I will have what I need. In terms of 'being my self' again there are conventions I follow, but I will not negate a thought or feeling about something I feel strongly for.

Not really , people paint a picture upon someone based how they feel about themselves.

See the movie "Being There", everyone who had a positive world view, thought possitive things about the main character and absolutly loved him, those who thought negative, were suspicious and applied upon him everything they hated.

unfortunately yeah i do,
but lately i've been trying to get myself to stop pleasing others. That's one of my habits the constant "i want to make this person happy and him and her and this guy etc"
i don't like how people judge me quickly so i guess i always want to show other people that i can do this and that
like i said. i'm trying to make it so that i can stop pleasing everyone and just make me know who i am instead of proving to others that i am what i am .. you know what i mean?
