you microwave a small dish of water with lemon juice in it till it steams it up really good then take a dry cloth and wipe it out repeat if necessary it loosens and dissolve all odors and makes it sparkling clean

Had the same thing happen to me. Try boiling a mixture of water and white vinegar in your microwave. The vinegar smells weired at first but will absorb the burned odor. Try 1 to 2 Tablespoons of vinegar to about 2 cups of water and let boil for a couple of minutes then, wipe down the inside of your microwave right after you boil the mixture. It will also losen up some of the grease that splatters if you wipe it down soon after. Hope it works for you. You may have to do it a couple of times before it starts smelling better.

Put a tablespoon or two of baking soda in a bowl of water and nuke it for a couple of minutes. Then let it steam in there for another couple minutes. Wipe down the interior with paper towel and the odor should be gone.
