I don't believe it's true, however a dancing career is even harder than an acting or writing career. Most dancers careers are about 10 years and even more are shorter than that because of injuries due to their passion. Not to mention like any industry they want the young people...so not dancing your whole life means you become great later in life...doesn't mean you won't be a great dancer...but if you haven't been doing it your whole life it most likely won't be a career option...doing as a hobby though I think would be great!

hey there, im not sure which country ur from, but in Australia they just finished airing 'so you think you can dance' and Sabra won, and she'd be dancing for a whole 4 years, and she beat people that had been dancing since they were toddlers.
i think if you have the dedication, focus and ambition you can do anything, including dancing.
i myself have been playing violin since i was 3 (im now 21) but there are ppl out there that i play with/against and they started only a few years ago.... give it a go. you've got nothing to lose and everything to gain

I don't know what do you mean by great. If you mean world-famous kind of great - then probably they are right. And it's not ony because of dancing, but also because career advancements take time. But if you mean your dancing looks really good and profesional - it is quite possible. I started out as an adult, not so young adult mind you, and I'm doing pretty well and enjoying it immensly. But it is my hobby, not my profession.

What? Anyone can dance. I have two left feet and can get away with and A in dance class. Just practice and learn.

if you just want to do it as a hobby, it's perfectly fine. the people who say you will never be a great dancer are talking about prima ballerinas, who all start dancing almost as soon as they start walking.

It won't be as easy by any means because it's much harder to become flexible now then when you were growing up.. if you want 2 do like ballet it will be hard, ballroom that's definately going to be easier! Have fun!!

maximum studios furnish an ordeal lesson, so which you will test. greater importantly, what style of song do you like? in case you like hip-hop, then take a hip-hop classification. in case you like salsa, take a salsa classification. in case you like swing, take a swing classification. you do not probably sound like a ballet form of guy yet while that floats your boat, properly then, choose for it!
