My gramma could have rushed for 1000 yards a season with the Cowboys of the nineties.

Magneto, my gramma is fast! Real fast. She could even take out one of your X-men.

And Magneto, I guarantee that I have done way more on a football field, baseball diamond, and basketball court than you could ever dream of.

Emmit Smith is not and never will be the best running back ever. I have always thought Walter Payton was the best. As they say about the IF's.. If Barry Sanders had played for another team. He would probably hold almost untouchable records. Those were two classy running backs that done the job week in and week out.

I can't remember what year it was but my New Orleans Saints held Emmett Smith to -3 yards on 24 carries while Emmitt was still with the Cowboys. I watched a classic college game the other day when Emmitt Smith was playing for the Florida Gators against LSU. LSU won.

Emmitt Smith was the greatest player to ever touch an NFL football. He is the best runningback who ever played the game. So what if he had a whole great team to back him up? His single skills carried him to TD's and yards all over the place. He had his back-up, but what's back-up if you don't have skill yourself? Emmitt Smith will go down in the history books. He got onto the field, he played the games, he won games for the Cowboys, he was a star on/off the field. This is why he is a Hall of Famer.

Barry Sanders was the best no doubt. Emmitt Smith played 5 years longer than Barry, So if u take Emmitt Smiths five worst rushing yard years away, Barry Sanders has more. I don't fault Barry Sanders for retiring before his time because he was stuck on a horrible team that i unfortunately root for.

Numbers play a huge factor. I like Emmitt Smith, but even I wouldn't agree that he's the best. Personally, I thought Barry Sanders who was playing at the same time as Emmitt, was much better. Sanders was much quicker, elusive and could've easily had the same career as Smith, had he played a couple more seasons.

You are right, just think if Walter had that O line and team he would have rushed for 30,000 yards. Emmit was and is overrated.

I don't know why people insist on propelling that myth. Everyone who knows anything about football knows that Christian Okoye was the best running back EVER!!!
