He wasn't. He made me proud to be a Viet Nam Veteran. The Dem's did everything they could do to make us feel ashamed

Reagan busted up the unions, doubled taxes, better government spending, left us with a defecit larger than each and every previous president mixed and commenced a deregulation technique that extremely helped out firms and raped the middle type, completely replaced up GATT which might bring about our jobs being shipped off to countries that should get extra inexpensive hard paintings, at the same time as on the comparable time placed on a grin and reported massive government exchange into our enemy -- yeah, his form of government exchange into our enemy. Yeah, he exchange into staggering to the republican fan base, because of the fact he fooled human beings at the same time as putting forth their very center regulations that makes the wealthy, richer and all of us else pay for it -- it is who all of them opt to be (or they're too stupid to attain what their occasion does).

Because, all of his failure is blocked out by his intense charisma. He still sold weapons to the Iranians and contras, and he still wreaked the American Economy with Reaganomics, but he was very charismatic. Also Carternomics was taking affect, makeing the prosperity to look like it was his. Also, he was credited with the fall of the Soviet Union, a job that took us about 50 years to do, he supposely did single handedly.

He gave hope to the people and brought back a patriotic feeling to America, despite his lack of any real political or governmental contributions of great significance. Getting shot and healing like a champ furthered his strong persona...
He WAS overrated...but not the worst Repub president in recent memory...*snicker*...(Bush)

It was part of a conspiracy by members of several conservative groups, notably the Bohemian Grove and the Heritage Society, who manipulated the media.
This was the birth (NOT the conception, the birth) of an ongoing attempt by a group of very evil people to put a permanent fascist oligarchy in control of the United States.
I will likely be arrested or murdered soon.

I think he's just a recent Republican president who wasn't terrible that conservatives can point to and say 'see, we make great presidents!'. He happened to be president when the Soviet Union collapsed and the economy happened to be doing fairly well, and he gets far too much credit for these things while some serious flaws in his presidency (i.e. Star Wars and putting our country massively in debt) get glossed over.

He appealed to a demeographic that had previosly been ignored. Fundamentalist Christians. These people are conditioned to accept things on faith alone, and were duped into thinking he was like them. Before he discovered the fundamentalist vote, he never set foot in a church.
Most still believe in him.
The Soviet system was inherently unstable, and had been on the verge of collapse it's entire history. A brutal police state was required to hold it together. That it happened to collapse on Reagans watch was an accedent of history that his promoters still capitalize on today.

He helped end the cold war. Made lots of nuclear weapons so Russia couldn't keep up. Russia tried to, though, and went bankrupt so became a democracy instead of a communist society.
Him helping to end the cold war was a marvelous thing. During the cold war, you never did know when the world would go through a huge nuclear world war 3 (American VS. Russia) and the world and all life would be demolished.
Also, the economy was doing well. And he looks pretty good compared to the current president!

Because he was an actor. He knew how to project an image and a good image is what the idiot public wants. They want style, not substance.

Over rated?
Tip O'Niel called him the dumbest man to ever occupy the White House and they were friends.
I know I know, that's what liberals say about every Republican president since Eisenhower but, over rated is a stretch.
