I know i'll get many thumbs down for this, but in my opinion its basically the same. See im one of those horrrrrrible pro-choice women. There is nothing wrong with either. Neither of the objects dying knows the difference as long as its done within a reasonable amount of time. A very early child is nothing more than a mass of tissue as a result of the sprem combining with an egg, it has no thoughts. Millions of sperm die and they dont have a thought in the world about it. They are basically the same in an abstract way.

No, masturbating is no the same as abortion because masturbating is simply releasing semen, in your case. Abortion is actually taking a fertilized egg and destroying it. Semen aren't a baby-- fertilized eggs are!

As far as being created in God's image and the egg issue. The correct translation there can either be image, shadow, or actually both. From that we can see that even a "fertilized egg" was designed by God. Furthermore, in Psalms the author, most commonly believed to be David, states that God knew us in the womb, knew us before we were knitted together. From that we can also see that a child, even unborn in the world, still matters far beyond a lump of tissue.

I believe if the God of the Universe cares enough about "a lump of tissue", as so many describe and unborn child, then I believe that we should too.

well under the pretense of law, "abortion is the taking of the fetus from the womb of a woman before it comes to term"

The egg, is only half or part of the life force that is from the womb. You still need the sperm to cause the egg to mature into a fetus and come to term as a child.

As for your question of in God's image; God as a person a adult, not talked about as anything but a man, not a boy, so no the egg is not the same as God in the sense of his image.

Therefore, masturbating is not the same as an abortion.

Try to think about this in another way...
Not every time you ejaculate inside a woman you get her pregnant, and even if you get her pregnant only one sperm of thousands get to the egg...

So if you see it like you say, every time you ejaculate you are aborting thousand of babies even if she gets pregnant...

Also every month if she does not have sex and gets pregnant then her egg is also lost so you will have to count that as another abortion... What would mean that I have been aborting babies since I was 12.

I don't believe in a God like the one you portrait, but I can assure you that masturbating and ejaculating is normal, feel free to do it, don't let anybody make you think it is wrong... Its something you have to do, sometimes even to get pressure out of your testicles.

God made many sperms and eggs for reproduction purposes, but also gave us the ability to feel pleasure, so use it. Imagine if you had only one sperm or one egg... we would already be extinguished.

I would think that most pro-lifers would say no. Eggs and sperm are not considered human life until they combine, called conception, in the uterus. If you are a believer of life at conception (the most strict pro-life believe), the combination of the egg and the sperm represents the beginning of human life. Since masturbation only destroys sperm, it cannot be said to destroy human life.

Abortion is terminating a fertilised egg, i.e. a foetus or baby in the making.

Masturbating to climax, for a guy, is just shooting off excess sperm. We've got more than plenty of sperm to go around, thus it is not the same.

If man were created in your god's image, then the god would have cancer, tumors, be gay, a hermaphrodite, be blind and have stigmatism, have diabetes, herpes, aids, TB, HIV, all of the hepatitis, bird flu, incefilitis, leukemia, deaf, and the list goes on.

Christian pro life activists comepletely miss the point that it is not your right to judge or campaign for somthing that is not and never will be your choice.

Masturabting is not the same as abortion. To abort means to get rid of a child thats growing inside the woman. Just because someone masturbates, doesn't mean its the same as an abortion.

Well you need 2 half's to make the child.

Both are just data when separated... chromosome x y ect..

But once both are united you have begun life. The child is been created and is now a living been. But may i suggest not to masterbate, that's a low dirty, cheap rank of pleasure and sorta of a stress reliver. It's a temptation withing the mind. It's better if you go for the real thing. Hope this information helps ya! Give me best answer :) score.

As an atheist who is also pro-life I answer with a solid NO. Human life does not begin until a separate being is created that is biologically distinct from both the mother and the father.

I think you need to study human biology/reproduction again. The egg is everything, the sperm is just genetic code and doesn't amount to anything until the egg accepts it. Millions die on the way to the egg.
