800 + 500 = 1300
1300 / 2 = 650 so that is half way between the two.

find the different of the two number: 800 - 500 = 300
Take the different divide by half: 300/2 = 150
add the answer to 500 or subtract the answer to 500
500 + 150 = 650 OR 800 - 150 = 650
so the answer is 650

There are two kinds of "halfways". One is called the "arithmetic mean" it is:
500 + 800 = 1300 divided by 2 = 650.
The other is called the "geometric mean"
it is X where:
500/X = X/800
X^2 = 400,000
X = 632.5
Since you only have 2 choices, I would say 650 is your answer.

type of. Cleveland is the main important city close to the midway-element between NYC and Chicago. individually, i think of Columbus,OH is a nicer city to circulate to. not something against the Clevelanders
