Lol, are you asking if we were born yesterday? The Democrats are STILL the closest thing to representation that the working class has!

Yes, this will be my ninth presidential election. I have been voting since I turned eighteen. I remember unions being strong from the fifties through 1981 when Reagan became president and started the attack against unions. It's more that the GOP smear machine over the years has demonized unions in particular and anything that is good for the worker but bad for the company, a voice, representation. Now people are slaves to their jobs, we're losing pensions, medical coverage, a living wage and our jobs. Democrats still represent the working person...to an extent but republicans have been more successful in their smear tactics in convincing Americans democrats are tax and spenders, untrue, cut and runners, untrue, weak on national security, untrue and socialists, also untrue. I will never understand the people who think the disparity between the classes is acceptable.

I would argue they never really supported the American Worker...that is until the American Worker Unionised. Then, once there was a collective think for the blue collar workers, then the Dems cared.
Lets see:
Dems believe in big government, which means more jobs to non-union persons. This big government means much higher taxes. So, since the poor get their taxes back every year (which is a good thing) and the rich can afford Financial Advisors, Lawyers and Accountants to enable the rich to evade taxes, this leaves there burden where? let me help: THE WORKING CLASS. But Kiker, what about the universal healthcare plan. Great. No me, Mr. Workingman, is paying 65% in taxes rather than 25%. Oh thank you soooo much Dems, you really saved my @$$ here. Not only am I paying a ton in taxes, but my healthcare sucks because Aetna is in bed with the Clintons allowing them to get first pick of the process. Geee, I feel so supported.

p.s. you realized incorrectly

Yes I do. Now we have Harry Reid and Nancy Pelosi representing Democrats. When in Washington Reid lives at the five star Four Seasons Hotel. He tried to give Christmas gifts to the hotel staff out of his campaign funds until he was caught. Pelosi is a just a rich girl who has made plastic surgeons rich and working people poor.

a million. Palin isn't being slammed because she's no longer a Washington insider, she's being slammed because she's an fool and blames all of her lack of knowlege on the media. Conversely, McCain might want to be in basic terms as hypocritical by ability of this kind of excellent judgment because he went on and on about experience and then picked Palin as his operating mate; 2. Obama does no longer have the most liberal voting list interior the Senate. in reality, 2 former presidential applicants have voting records that are, accepted, extra liberal than Obamas: Kerry and Kucinich. i wager they are offended black adult men too; 3. i have not heard Obama say something about no longer operating. in reality, he and his spouse and operating mate have talked at length about their operating class roots and Obama has many times spoken on own duty to the black community. Jessie Jackson might want to disagree with this fact. further, being a liberal would not recommend that you're offended and it really is stupid to even make that factor; 4. no human being is well-known with at the same time as existence begins, he's no longer a scientist, prevalent practitioner, etc. they could't even agree on that regardless of the reality that i will concede that that turned right into a stupid reaction on his section; 5. Churchill is actual a kind of twentieth century leaders who changed into large in his time yet would not extremely translate to this new chance. There are fundamentalist all over the world residing perfect right here with us. you may't flow charging into one or 2 international locations questioning that you're containing the placement. Sitting down and speaking with someone and not feeding their device which Bush has finished to an spectacular degree is international kin, no longer appeasement; 6. i do not keep in mind that that is real, I even ought to do a touch diagnosis so i will go away it for now.

YES
I also am old enough to remember that republicans represented big business, endorsed discrimination, opposed workers rights, minimum wage, 40 hour week, overtime pay
anything else you would like me to remember

That switch never happened. Democrats still support fair wages, health care, safe working conditions, safe environment.

Republicans still support deregulated workplaces, low wages, and tax cuts for the country club set.

Thoes were the good old days - not sure what you would call a Democrat today and most certainly Clinton was not a Democrat having signed NAFTA, somthing the Rebublicans were weting their pants to get signed.
Don't think Hillery, "Billery", if she becomes Pres. will be much better.
