While some discharge during the month is normal, it should not be colored (yellow isn't great, white with cottage cheese consistency isn't good, green is *very* bad--sorry for being sort of yuck there). And you shouldn't itch either or have a foul smell. If it does, then you definitely need to tell your mom and be checked by a doctor.

Oh, I just thought of one other thing too. I have read that if this happens as your period is ending--like maybe a day or so after you think your period has completely stopped for the month--it's because your body didn't fully get rid of all the the menstrual blood. Or in other words, it was a 'bad end' to your period and now, it's trying to get rid of the last old blood in your system. This is fairly common and considered normal, so if you don't have any other symptoms I already mentioned, that's what it very well could be.

Hang in there and try not to stress yourself out! :-)

(eta: Sorry--I was replying and didn't see your addl. comments before my initial reply. I took out the stuff that doesn't relate to your question.) :-)

To have a discharge come from your vagina is normal and if you are still waiting to have your first period this could be an indication of that. If you have already started your period for the first time the brown discharge is an indicator that your period is coming. Brown discharge is old blood.

If you are having yellow or brownish discharge at other times other than your period and it could be an indication of infection.

I know you aren't comfortable with the idea of seeing a doctor but if it is an infection the doctor needs to check things out to see what's going, but first thing that must happen even before that is for you to let your mom know what's going on so that she can be aware of what's going on.

ok. go to the store. buy some pads/tampons. now. you are n the developing stages of your period. this is how it first starts out. i am 14 and when i first got mine, i thought i pooped my pants. it won't be heavy for the first 1 or 2 times, but it will get heavier as time goes buy. so nothing to worry about- everything's normal and you are reaching womenhood! congrats! good luck

This is nothing to worry about! Trust me. At your age, it's normal to discharge. I would suggest to where pantyliners. They are SUPER thin and you can't feel them. You can get long size or short, just incase it's little discharge or you spot. This is a sign of your period, (if you haven't got it already). If you have, still normal.
Yellow/white/clear discharge is normal. Brown isn't. If you keep doing this, on a basis, see a doctor.

u might be getting your period and u are to young to be dealing with these questions on your own. Maybe their is a doctor u can talk to on the phone and he will tell u if it's nothing to worry about or if it is important to talk to your parents

Get over your shyness with physicians and GO TO ONE. If you're 14, you need to have an OB/GYN visit.

Yellow discharge is normal, brown is not. I'd get vagisile (i think that is how it is spelled) and that is a testing kit that tests whether you have an infection and i think what kind of infection.

I get that. It's normal. Sometimes it's because you get turned on (and you don't always have to know about it). Birth control usually will stop it.
