I'm writing an editorial for my government class on the Federalist position on the ratification of the Constitution. Is this a good thesis statement? If not, how can I improve it?

The Federalist party supported the ratification of the Constitution.

That sounds like half of a good thesis statement. Expand on it:

"The Federalist party supported the ratification of the Constitution by (or through or with) __________."

Be a little more specific about how they did it, and you'll have an easier time trying to prove your point. What you have is a good start, but it is a little too general and a bit of a statement of the obvious. Good luck!
