It says that we live in a world of pseudo morality and contradictions. People supposedly find dishonesty reprehensible, but frown upon raw sincerity. They would much rather you lie to their face, so they can convince themselves that they are above self-indulgence, ignorance, hatred, or any emotion that may seem negative; they enjoy believing in idealistic clichés, which will only destroy their self-esteem when a wrench is thrown into that tranquility and snaps their mindset back into reality.

I feel the same as you. I actually answer only the questions I either know something about or the ones that I have a strong opinion about. If you look at most of my answers they are 'real" answers and not just some smart a** response unless the question is just too funny to pass up. I just ran across a question where the person asked if she was the only one that answered any question just to move up a level. I guess I am here to help where I can and learn something along the way. Take care, there is more of us out here than you may think. Best of luck!!!!

If your answer is deliberately meant to cause harm, then you can appreciate for your own benefit you need reporting, because you could cause someone a lot of upset with a careless answer.

But if you have answered in all honesty, and the advice is good. Then even if someone reports you, you need not worry, because you have done the best you can to help that other person.

For example; you may not like this answer but it is the truth.

I imagine one of the best ways to get your answer is, try if you are able to put yourself in another's possition.

If you do not like this answer and you report it, what does it say about you?

But, by all means do, if you feel justified in doing so, or just upset, and provide a simple explanation why it is you are upset.

Yahoo may even take your side. After all no one is perfect.

But, if you have been hurt unjustly by someone reporting you, and you have done no harm, you have nothing to worry about.

But if you know you have done something foolish, then hopefully you will know not to do it again.

Though you do not sound as one who is foolish.

I report answers that if the answers were movies, they would be rated R, and I do this for the same reason that movies are rated R; some things are not appropriate for younger children to see, and Yahoo relies on us to decide what that is. So what that says about me (I guess) is that I care about our children. PS. I have reported 3 or 4 answers total, and they all dealt with racism or anatomy

It could say:

1. I'm too sensitve
2. I take Google Questions/Answers too seriously
3. You're crossing lines of decency, but hey, it is the world wide web, meaning-What would I expect in the first place?
I guess that sort of takes me back to number 2...
4. I invest a great deal of time into this "thing" and it's important to me
5. If 4 is true, I may have a problem
6. I could be legitimately concerned about -Ahh, whatever, Im done:)

Some people maliciously "report" people because they don't like the question or answer. I asked a political question a few days ago and was reported. I appealed to Y/A customer service and they reinstated me. I remember one guy, though, who answered a question from someone who was depressed and didn't know what to do by saying "GO KILL YOURSELF." When I saw that, I reported it.

If they report you they are a "Looser", if you don't like the question you just don't answer it. Don't be rude and report it, unless it is a question that totally offends, we all have the right to ask what it is that we don't know

peace out

Depends. If you directly answered my question the best you can then it says I am only looking for people that agree with me. If I asked how you feel about apples and you started ranting about the voices in your head telling you to track my apple loving a*s down and kill me....I would report you.

I've never reported anyone's answer. But I would assume that you would have to write some pretty vile and disgusting comments with a lot of vulgarities , or maybe a dealth threat, or maybe even solicit sex from minors or something like that. before anyone would report you.

If I report you just because I don't like your answer that says that I'm a total loser who can't handle a free exchange of ideas.
