Add 2x from both sides:
6=9+x

Subtract 3 from both sides:
-3=x

Check:
6-2(-3)=9-(-3)
6+6=9+3

I hope this helps!

Add 2x to both sides of the equation. Then subtract 9 from both sides.

Here it is:
6-2x+2x=9-x+2x
6-9=9-9+x
