yes I do think this.
I don't have television and haven't watched for thirty years. I don't buy newspapers and see them only in cafés when I am alone or when I go on holiday to my friends house.

Even the Independent is self-referencing to the point where celebrities names are used as adjectives and adverbs and I have to ask for information in order to understand the 'news'.

I think they are probably bought in order to avoid the news as a light-hearted substitute.
The tabloids are completely inaccessible to me but I can see that they are great fun like comics.

What ostriches we are!

Supplementary question. Do tabloids feed off peoples need for information or do they supply that need? I feel it is the latter but there again I am reasonably educated and do not buy newspapers on the basis of a nipple count.

Yep they do.
The people of this country need "The Sun" newspaper to give em an opinion on anything.

And the thing is....... The sun have to sway whatever way Murdoch wants em too, and that means theyre still stoopid enough to support the war in Iraq !!

While I don't believe a word they say, if standing in line at a supermarket, I've been known to check out the latest they have to say.

I am amazed at how many people do believe every word they read in these rag-mags. Apparently, so many so that they sell very well.

i was thinking that i could some how be a celebrity, then sell stories to tabloids about myself. tottally fake ones just for fun,

"Tom's painful love afair with the elderly"
"Can Tom say no to angellina again?"
"Check out Tom's New Baby Body!!!(bun in the oven?)"
i think it would be a good way to make a living.
