10% of £26.50 = £2.65

therefore 5% of £2.65 is £2.65 / 2 = £1.325

Easier way if you have a calculator handy is to divide £26.50 by 100 and multiply by 5. then you have the same answer.

To find the percentage divide your number by 100 to find 1%.

In this case it's 26.50%100 = 0.265.

Then you times your 1% by whatever percentage your trying to figure out. So....

0.265 (1%) x 5 (%) = 1.325
