Basically the problem with Ouija boards lies in the act of sending out an open invitation to everything in the universe. When you use one of those things, you're asking for anything that's out there to talk to you. This means you're asking for good things as well as bad things -- and the bad things tend to stick around and latch on to you.

That's not to say you can't protect yourself with prayers to your chosen faith, but it's a better idea to just not mess with that.

Many people are narrow minded, if they see or hear of something that they don't fully understand, or it challenges their beliefs in some way it is easier to say that it is evil or has something to do with the devil.

It most cases this is just a cop-out for the sake of convienence. Like someone saying 'this is it, this is how always has been, and this how it is going to stay', they are afraid that if they investigate, even just a little bit, they may be proven wrong.

Here is some information on the 'Ouija' that you may find interesting:

An extension of one of my previous answers.

The term "Ouija" is derived from the French "oui" (English: "yes") and the German/Dutch "ja" (also English: "yes"). An alternative ouija story suggests the name ouija was revealed to inventor Charles Kennard during a ouija séance and was claimed to be an Ancient Egyptian word meaning "good luck", although this is ouija theory known to be incorrect. Ouija It has also been suggested the word ouija was inspired by the name of the Moroccan city Oujda.

The ouija board is an instrument which can be used to contact or channel spirits of the deceased. A modern day ouija board is usually a wooden or cardboard device. The ouija board is inscribed with the alphabet, the words 'yes', 'no', 'hello', 'goodbye' and the numbers 0 to 9. With the ouija board there is usually a slideable ouija piece of apparatus on rotating castors or wheels with an ouija pointer. The ouija operators of the ouija board lightly place their fingers on the slideable ouija device and wait for it to move. When the ouija pointer comes into contact with, or moves over one of the letters, numbers or words printed on the ouija board, a record of this ouija message is kept and later used to see if an intelligible message can be obtained.

Like anything else in life, it can be safe or dangerous, this has direct bearing on the person using the board. There is nothing inherently evil about this, that is just other peoples insecurities being reflected. And it is not a tool of the devil as many may have you believe.

Ouija boards are instruments used for communication with the dead and for divination; this puts them in the realm of the occult. Yes, they are sold as games, but they are actually used by mediums in occult practices. Leviticus 19:26, Deuteronomy 18:10, Deuteronomy 18:14, Joshua 13:22, 1 Samuel 15:23, 2 Kings 17:17, 2 Kings 21:6, all speak against divination. I would recommend reading the verses around each one to get the full context of them. Hope this helps!

I had a friend who once played with one of these stupid Ouija board things. They asked harmless questions, 'does so and so like so and so, and will so and so break up with so and so', but then my friend got freaked out and decided not to play anymore. The others teased her, but after a while, they all decided the game was stupid and not to play. When they started to put it away, the lights in the room went out, and things fell off of the dresser onto the floor. The girls screamed and such, my friend prayed, the lights came back on, a lot of glass things had broken, and they threw the game out. People can call it fake, and tell me it's just a stupid Christian superstition, but I really don't care what anyone says.

Where do you think the answers come from, if it's just some stupid game? There may be no proof that it's evil, but show me proof that it isn't.

To Christians, Ouija boards are associated with demons, dark magic, and the devil. There is no proof that it is evil, they just believe it. There is nothing in the Bible that says anything about Ouija boards, but since Christians believe that it associates with demons they look at all the passages about demons and Satan. I am a Christian, I don't ask questions to Ouija boards (or even care about Ouija boards), but I don't think they're evil. I mean, if there are demons around, how does that make a board evil?

I have seen many results from Ouija board users one is to become obsessed and another is to be possessed!

"The Ouija board is a vehicle which makes it easy for negative spirits and demonic forces to enter this plane of existence." cautioned that evil spirits or demonic forces often gain the trust of people experimenting with Ouija boards by answering several questions truthfully and providing predictions.

"Once they have gained the trust of their victims, it is easy for the entity to move in and take over either by strongly influencing that person, or by outright possession," .

People who are untrained and unsophisticated in the field of the paranormal and supernatural should never play with devices such as the Ouija board!

Don't Get Trapped with Ouija boards

If you want to communicate with Spirits work on your Psychic senses then do it the right way it may take longer however it is more rewarding : ) The easy way is not always the right way, you have to work for your rewards with knowledge

There is nowhere in the Bible that specifically says that you shouldn't play that game. That's right, it's just a game. I think that a lot of people are scared of what they've heard about, but I think that many people are afraid of what they think will happen more than anything else. Maybe they think that they will show their innermost secrets through the questions that they ask. Not sure. I just don't like it because it is geared towards the occult, and I don't believe in that stuff.

Some believe they are evil, because they do not realize that it is a game. I have heard many stories of how evil they are and how when used by someone who knows nothing about them can call upon dark spirits and not know how to get rid of them. I have even heard stories of how you can't get rid of a Ouija board unless you burn it. Just silly stories and folk lore that is told to scare people from them or even to attract them to the game. Very silly.

I don't think there's anything in the bible about it BUT I heard from a friend that if you place holy water on it and it starts to do funny stuff, then you know it's evil. But if the holy water just stays in place and nothing happens. Then it's a good ouiji board to use.
