I have some friends that are dead convinced that there is someone out there leaving infected AIDS needles on everything (Gas pumps, mailboxes, even on the dancefloor!)...they're scared silly! How do I help them understand there's nothing to be afraid of - that there has never been a case of this?

Thanks!

Most times when someone is so easily swayed there is not much you can do to change their mind . Just be their friend and don't buy into the crap .

Snopes.com is the most reliable urban myth debunker I have ever seen.

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/mayhem/gaspump.asp for the story about the needles.

Whenever I get an email which contains the words "send this to everyone you know," immediately I turn to Snopes to disprove the story and send it to everyone on the forwarded "TO:" list.

well you can tell them its ok to be scarred but its not all around you as long as you have no oppen cuts it is like there saying if you cough on some 1 youll get aids but thats not how it works you'll have to share needles withsome 1 ,sex , touching aids with oppen wounds but itss 1 out of 1.000.000 you'll get aids

Thanks,
