Or have they just been lucky catching certain teams at the right time and getting wins? A lot of critics say could just as well be 5-4. What is your take on them?

they could easily be 5-4 but i think they are a good team. their defense is really good. from stopping the run to covering the pass. they got great cover corners in Harris and woodson but they lack in safety help.

they'll prolly loss to Dallas in two weeks when they play just because of what i just mentioned. they got no safety help. covering Witten with a linebacker just wont cut it. they might stop the Wr's but they wont be able to stop witten.

but they are the second best team in the NFC.

why are people saying the AFC is better than the NFC. i think they're almost equalling out. level playing field again. but the AFC does have the best team in the NFL.

all teams have a few close encounters. surely the packers could be 5-4. at the same time, they could be 9-0 if their young players wouldn't have made over 15 penalties in one game. the cowboys in week 1: if burress wouldn't have slipped resulting in an interception, the outcome would have been different and giants could have won. the bills gave a good fight, cowboys got lucky at the end. if you can consistently win, especially in places on the road such as Denver and KC, you are proven a solid football team. the Packers are a young, but very solid team. the question on whether it will continue into next season is a different issue with aging corners and whether Favre will return. that's the future though. this is now. as of now, the Packers are as good as their record shows. heck, if you can shut down the best rb in the league and shutout that team in pure domination form, you are a solid team.

They're actually a very good team. I live in Wisconsin so I'm forced to watch all of their games if I watch Fox...it's rather annoying, but at least they're winning this year. (Yeah, the guy above me is right...they're 8-1 in the NFC...that's 5-4 in the AFC, I suppose.)

They have a very improved defense (and they're still very young at most positions) and the offense is starting to become more balanced. They pass as good as anyone else though, that helps, and Favre can still bomb on deep with great accuracy. They could be 5-4...sure...Carolina could be 1-7...Dallas could be 6-3....but they're not...if a team can "eek" out a win every week and do it consistently against all kinds of teams...I'd say they're as good as that 8-1 record...

Well, my take on it is, a win is a win, no matter how you look at it. people can come up with all this 'shoulda woulda coulda' stuff. But the bottom line is, they are 8-1 and tied with my Dallas Cowboys for second in the league. You don't become second in the league by losing games. And also Brett favre has the most 300 yard passing games in the NFL this season, with Tony Romo one game behind him. What do people have to say about that????

They wouldn't be 8-1 if they weren't good...now would they?

Favre has a great way of "coaching" young guys and the young guys are stepping up dramatically. Favre is playing for the love of the game and for another championship ring. GB has been screwed with penalties and have still come out with the W even if it was ugly. The Bear game should have been a win even though it wasn't.

The Pack is back!!!!

Ehhh I'd say they might have overachived a little. I predicted a 10-6 record for them this year. Still, they haven't exactly had an easy schedule either. They beat 4 teams that were in the playoffs last year and the one game they lost(the Bears)they dominated for most of the time. However the Packers are for real. Believe me.

I honestly don't think they should be where they are now...Brett Favre has been playing great and the Packers D has been awesome...but here's the thing...The Packers are an NFC team and an 8-1 record in the NFC is completely different from an 8-1 record in the AFC...Just watch them have fun now...maybe they'll turn out to be a championship team after all...

Well, its because Favre is playing great...If they had to rely on the running game, they wouldn't be 8-1...

They got cheated out of the one game they lost. Really though, the team is not that good, but Favre is!

They have been playing well since late last year. They were young and inexperienced last year. Now they are playing team ball and it shows.
You should've asked, "Is GB making teams look bad"?
