welfare fraud encompasses alot of things from the "off the books babysitter" to the ones who fail to report that the father of their children is in the home and has a full time, well paying jobs. These people laugh at the welfare department because they're getting away with fraud.
as far as a tv show, it might be interesting if it went into "why" people try to cheat the system in the first place. and also go into what happens after they're caught.
i think it's an interesting idea for a show.
also, i'm an eligibility worker for the welfare dept where i live so i would definitely watch it.

Actually, it sounds like a good idea, but I wouldn't watch it because it would make me sick. I worked in High School as a cashier at HEB and more often than not people would come in with their welfare food stamp cards and buy crap. When they would have the benefits that are supposed to be used to buy diapers and school supplies, they would by cartons of cigarettes and cases of beer. There were times when people didn't have enough money on the card so they would put back diapers to pay for the beer and cigs. It is so sickening because I see everytime I get paid how much of MY money is going to pay for that crap. When my nephew was 2 months old my sister found out her husband was cheating and left him. She was a stay at home mom so had no income. My family pitched in to help her out, but when she tried to get WIC and food stamps she told them she didn't qualify. Somehow all the people driving Escalades and dressing their babies in nike and ralph lauren did qualify though. I am all for helping people in need but our welfare system DOES NOT do that. It enables people to be lazy and doesn't help those that actually pay into it.

That would ROCK! Yes!
They should also go after workman's comp frauds. You know, things like the "I can't work, I have a bad back" guys who have no problem picking up the "TV set" they won in a pretext contest.

You know what you would find? Grandmas crocheting baby blankets for extra money. A stray boyfriend or two in the closet. Maybe a hidden asset, like a junker of a car.
Maybe even an off the books babysitting job.
Would that give you joy?
If so skip the middleman and just pull the wings off flies all by yourself.

It wouldn't get as good ratings. I think Dateline tried tax evaders or something with Chris Hansen and it didn't do as well. Sex sells.

I think everyone needs to turn off their mind numbing entertainment and start watching our Government and what they are doing to our Nation.
You want reality TV - watch CSPAN
Wake up

It has been done by similar shows using similar tactics. It is even more boring then the "predator" stuff.
