My baby has been "dropped" since 34 weeks. Today I'm having A LOT of pressure down there, painful pressure. And it's making the muscles in my groin cramp. My feet are swollen and and I've been having some cramping and pains in my low back. Also my appetite has been very poor today. I know it's too soon for labor but how much longer do you think it's going to be? I'm miserable...should I go to the doctor? His office is closed but I could go to e.r. My next o.b. appointment isn't until tuesday. Also I have been having some sharp pains in my vagina. Anyone experience all this?

It's normal to feel that way at 37wks, I wouldn't panic to much just relax stay calm and enjoy it because it will get worse when you go into actual labor. I lost my appetite around the same time and the doc told me it's normal generally your last few weeks because there's not a lot of room you appetite slows down. The cramping is just braxton and hicks or your baby could be on a nerve. Take a hot bath maybe some Tylenol and just pay attention to them if they become unbearable then you should go in but if not wait till Tuesday and talk to your doctor. Good luck and take care.

It is not too early for labor. Is the pain consistant. Do you know if you are having contractions? It doesn't hurt to call the hospital. They could help you determine if it's labor, false labor, or soemthing else. They might ask you to come in just to do a stress test to determine 100% if you are in labor or not.

Good luck and I wish I was having my baby today. I have 37 weeks also.

I know it's horrible! I dropped a long time ago too and I'm having the sharp pains, too... The cramping in your back makes me think it might be soon. Call your o.b. and tell them what's going on. They will give you instructions. It won't be much longer :)

yikes... i remember vividly!!!! that low low pain... call you obstetrician.... the pressure is the baby's head getting into position, but i had this pain all during my last month, and everytime he moves his head, you get that low pain. i laid in a hot bathtub, that seemed to calm the pain .....

better yet, call the er nurse, then you dont have to wait for your ob to call you back!!!
